Professor Tom Mauriello and representatives from the University of Maryland Police Department and several firearms experts will be discussing the issues of gun violence, safety and awareness, along with a presentation on the identification of all different categories of guns.
 
Professor Mauriello's webcast show, “forensicweek.com” will be broadcasting the program LIVE while doing its normal weekly show.  It is open to the entire campus community in 1400 Marie Mount Hall. Anyone can watch the program LIVE or watch a recording on the same YouTube channel at www.forensicweek.com.  The agenda will go like this:
 

  • 7:00 - From the lecture hall projector screen, the forensicweek.com show will begin with introductions of the two student groups to open the program;
  • 7:05 - Students groups will identify their respective members and objectives of the program;
  • 7:10 - Students will introduce the University of Maryland Police representatives, Captain Robert Mueck and Captain Ken Calvert, who will be talking about gun violence and the police department’s awareness message to them;
  • 7:30 - Students will introduce Professor Mauriello, who will introduce the firearms experts who will speak on the identification and safety factors of all types of weapons;
  • Around 8:30/8:45 - Students will have closing remarks;
  • 9:00 - forensicweek.com webcast will end their broadcast;
  • 9:00 - Program ends and participants can meet with the experts and get close up to the weapons on display and have all their questions answered by the guest experts.
