CCJS Doctoral Candidate, Miranda Galvin, was offered a fellowship with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. The Mirzayan Fellowship introduces people early in their careers to the dynamic relationship between science and policy by working with the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine for twelve weeks.
Created in November 2017, in memory of the life and scholarship of Professor Ray Paternoster, the Ray Paternoster Memorial Fund will help support the installation of a memorial bench at the University of Maryland, and a lecture series in Ray's name within the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice (Paternoster annual lecture).
On Tuesday October 24, 2017, Lawrence Sherman was awarded the Wilbur Cross Medal - the school's highest honor - by the Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. The Graduate School has approved Michelle Fabiani's International Graduate Research Fellowship application for conducting research in "Defining Key Concepts in Cultural Property Crime" at Queen Mary University London in the School of Law.
