Special Agent Hilland's presentation concerns the nearly 40-year investigation of serial killer John Smith. Smith eluded law enforcement for 26 years before his arrest in 2000. The presentation will discuss the FBI's efforts in pursuing and ultimately apprehending Smith. It has been featured on 20/20, Cold Case Files, The New Detectives, Forensic Files and On the Case with Paula Zahn. S/A Hilland will be presenting this case in a way that the audience will feel they are part of the investigation. This is the CCJS 320 regular time slot and has 90 students in sections 0101 and 0201. There are about 50 remaining seats in the lecture hall and CCJS 320 instructor, Tom Mauriello, invites any CCJS major, faculty or staff member, who might be interested in attending this special lecture.
