Amazon Web Services (AWS) Workshop on Data Lakes and Crime Analytics
The AWS Data Lakes and Crime Analytics workshop will explore how AWS services can be deployed to store and analyze data to gain actionable intelligence and insights.
AWS offers a data storage and analytics solution that offers more agility and flexibility than traditional data management systems. A data lake is a new and increasingly popular way to store and analyze data because it allows organizations to manage multiple data types from a wide variety of sources, and store this data, structured and unstructured, in a centralized repository. We will discuss how to create and manage a public safety data lake.
We will also discuss how AWS analytics capabilities including Amazon SageMaker. Amazon SageMaker is a fully managed service that provides every developer and data scientist with the ability to build, train, and deploy machine learning (ML) models quickly. SageMaker removes the heavy lifting from each step of the machine learning process to make it easier to develop high quality models. We will discuss how Sagemaker and Amazon’s suite of computer vision, natural language processing and other analytics services can help analyze crime data and produce actionable intelligence.
The event will be hosted by the Maryland Crime Research and Innovation Center (MCRIC).
We look forward to seeing you at the morning or afternoon session!
