For two weeks during July 2018, CCJS Instructors Wendy Stickle and Christine White took 15 students to Italy to study the intersection between the refugee crisis and human trafficking.
Students involved in the experience designed a blog to document their adventures along the way. Students posted to the blog daily to discuss what they learned (and all of the fun experiences they had).
The trip was an unforgettable and meaningful experience, as described by one of the participating students:
This experience is one that I will never forget. I learned so much about the refugee crisis, human trafficking, Italian policies, and Italian law. It caused me to broaden my views on the world and to consider other countries' views on certain situations, such as human trafficking and refugees. This trip was a once in a lifetime experience that will influence me and my career for years to come.
