CCJS is happy to announce the addition of a new faculty member, Greg Midgette. Dr. Midgette will be a tenure-track Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2018.

Greg Midgette received his PhD from the Pardee RAND Graduate School and MPP from UCLA. As an associate policy researcher at the RAND Corporation he has combined primary data collection, qualitative analysis, and applied econometric methods to improve understanding of offender decision making and evaluate interventions for illicit drug markets, community corrections, and public health and safety. Based on his dissertation, he currently is principal investigator for an NIJ-funded study of programs combining intensive drug and alcohol monitoring and small but immediate sanctions to deter substance use among high-risk community corrections clients in urban and rural settings. His work has appeared in journals including Addiction and the American Journal of Public Health, and has been covered by the Washington Post, New York Times, and CNN.
