We are honored to announce that CCJS Professor & Acting Chair, Sally Simpson, has been elected as the next President of The American Society of Criminology for 2019-2020! This makes six current and former ASC presidents in the Criminology & Criminal Justice department at UMD. Additionally, our own Laura Dugan has been elected Vice President of the ASC, and Brian Johnson has been elected Executive Counselor of the ASC. Congratulations to Sally, Laura, and Brian for their accomplishments!
The ASC is an international organization whose members pursue scholarly, scientific, and professional knowledge concerning the measurement, etiology, consequences, prevention, control, and treatment of crime and delinquency; it is the lead professional association in Criminology. We are proud to have 3 CCJS professors on the ASC Executive Board for 2019-2020.
