The program entitled “Human Trafficking in Context” started January 2nd, will extend to January 18th, and includes a three credit Criminology course, CCJS458A. The two CCJS faculty members, Christine White and Wendy Stickle, and 11 UMD students have been participating in cultural excursions, volunteering at the Development and Education Programme for Daughters and Communities Centre, a child protection organization, and attending speaking engagements with knowledgeable experts on the state of human trafficking in Thailand.

They’ve kept an online blog documenting their experiences and reflections on the trip. Topics include the unexpected joys of teaching, the beauty of the country, and insights on Thai culture.
