Amara Bailey is a master’s student in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland. They received two Bachelor of Science degrees in criminology and sociology from the University of Idaho. Before attending the University of Maryland, Bailey was a student and Teaching Assistant in the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program. Their research aims to understand how the experiences of gender-queer individuals in institutional corrections are shaped by gender-specific/neutral policies.
