Madisen is a PhD student in the department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland and is a University of Maryland flagship fellow. Prior to her time at UMD, Madisen received a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Economics from American University. As part of her undergraduate studies, Madisen completed a senior thesis that examined economic outcomes for formerly incarcerated individuals. Her current research interests include police reform, racial and economic inequality, and neighborhoods.
Madisen is currently serving as a research assistant for Dr. Greg Midgette and is working on her Master's Thesis with Dr. Maria Velez.
