As part of a program to showcase two BSOS students each month; Kinsey Manchester, a junior majoring in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a minor in French, was selected for September 2016. Kinsey chose to study Criminology and Criminal Justice after conducting a high school research project on the criminal investigation process. Her interest in the diversity of the field is what led to her decision to major in CCJS. Kinsey chose to attend the University of Maryland because she loved that she could have the traditional college experience while still being minutes away from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. She is heavily involved on campus; she is a tour guide with Images, an Alternative Breaks Experience Leader, a peer mentor with University Honors, and Team Leader for Partners in Print. Kinsey is especially grateful for the experiences and opportunities that the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences has offered her. She is unsure what she wants to do after she completes her undergraduate education but knows that the University of Maryland will provide her with all the tools for her future.
