The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Maryland is pleased to announce that Diane Hou and Jessica Townsend have received the Chair’s Award in recognition of their service and contributions to the Department initiatives.

Diane joined the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences in 2011 and became a full-time academic advisor in CCJS in 2016. She supports students in course planning and degree progress and assists the Associate Director of Student Services with daily advising operations. Diane received the 2020 Outstanding Advising and Administration Award (Undergraduate) from the College.

Jessica joined the department in 2019 and provides administrative support to the Department Chair, manages meetings and conferences, serves as staff representative for the Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure process, and oversees the department’s website and social media.

The department congratulates both on this well-deserved recognition.
