The UMD College of Behavioral and Social Sciences has selected Sophie Rzepala to receive the 2024 “Be the Solution” Senior Scholar Award. As a rising senior majoring in Criminal Justice and Criminology (CCJS) with a minor in French, this award recognizes Sophie’s outstanding academic achievements and engagement at Maryland.
In addition to her academic success, Sophie is actively involved on campus as the CCJS Peer Advisor and she is a member of Justice Reform UMD and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.
Sophie expressed her appreciation for the award, stating, “I am deeply honored and grateful to have been chosen as a Be the Solution Senior Scholar. I’m incredibly proud of all I have accomplished at UMD and thankful to BSOS and the CCJS department for their unwavering support and for allowing me to pursue my passions.”
