Nicole Amonett (Jackson) joined the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice (CCJS) in 2008.  As the Associate Director of Student Services, she works closely with the Director of Graduate Studies and Director of Undergraduate Studies by providing administrative support to the CCJS graduate and undergraduate programs. Nicole serves as the graduate program coordinator, ensuring grad students are adhering to program timelines and policies. Within the undergraduate advising office, Nicole assists with scheduling and students' course planning.

Prior to working in the CCJS department, Nicole was a Graduate Assistant Academic Advisor within the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences here at the University of Maryland.  Nicole earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a double major in Political Science at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and went on to earn her Master of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice here at the University of Maryland. Nicole is the recipient of the BSOS 2024 Excellence in Advising and Administration Award.
