Isabella Castillo was a Master’s student in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, holding bachelor's degrees in International Studies and Italian from Indiana University. Her research interests are centered on the role intersectionality has (ability, race, gender) on shaping interactions and experiences with the police as well as its impact on individuals, families, and communities at large. Particularly, she is driven to understand how individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families comprehend, interact, and are affected by the criminal justice system and its actors.
