Veyli Ortiz Solis graduated from the University of Massachusetts—Lowell with her B.S. in Criminal Justice in 2019 and her M.A. in Criminal Justice in 2021. She is currently a doctoral candidate. 

Veyli works as a graduate assistant for Dr. Min Xie on various projects focusing on victimization and community-police relations. Additionally, she has assisted Dr. Bianca Bersani in her Baltimore-based study. Along with these projects, Veyli has worked as a research associate for Dr. Elias Nader on a pilot program evaluation in partnership with the University of Baltimore. 

Veyli's dissertation will use multiple datasets to understand the world of labor trafficking.
