Veyli Ortiz Solis graduated from the University of Massachusetts—Lowell with her B.S. in Criminal Justice in 2019 and her M.A. in Criminal Justice in 2021. She is currently a doctoral candidate.
Veyli has worked as a graduate assistant for Dr. Min Xie on various projects focusing on victimization and community-police relations. Additionally, she has assisted Dr. Bianca Bersani in her Baltimore-based study. Currently, Veyli works alongside Dr. Elias Nader to evaluate the Neighborhood Policing Plan in Baltimore through a partnership with the University of Baltimore.
Veyli's dissertation will use the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) to examine variations in victimization risk for persons with disabilities.
